Every time I've been here, it's been a pretty good experience. Service is top notch and Ryan was a very good manager that gave us the best experience. The food was good when I went there for a 2nd time for a party. Yesterday I went there for my 3rd time. We were greeted, seated & helped right away. Our waitress was very attentive during the 3 hour stay and provided 3 beer samples from the bar to the outside back patio. I asked for the double IPA they have on tap as a sample and was told they couldn't do that. I went to the bar later and asked for a sample and they gave me one of it. If I would've gotten a sample originally of the double IPA, I would've gotten that one rather than a citrus one. That's my only small complaint. Food serve is fast but otherwise they'll be seeing me & friends regularly when I wanna stay in the new Berlin area for a meal or drink!

What a delightful little place. Seems like they have a lot of long time loyal patrons and they do a lot of catering. Went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and there was plenty of room in the back (newer) area and tons of seating outside. Pretty clean and cozy. Matty's has a build your own burger, which I really like. They even give you a sticker with the name of the person that made it. The burger was pretty fantastic and the Caribbean sauce was amazing - definitely need to go back and try more. Also had the sweet potato fries with the marshmallow dipping sauce. Let me be clear, I'm not a fan of marshmallows - but this was the bees knees! Highly recommend. I'm told brunch is great and so is the pizza - so I'll be back to try it out!

While trying to find a new place to watch the Packer game, a friend mentioned Matty's. Online we found that they were having a "Packer Experience" that day which was $30/person and included an open bar (rails and beer) and halftime food. Decided to give it a try and it didn't disappoint. Got there around 10:45 and there were plenty of seats on the "Mattio". The alcohol started at 11AM and the awesome waitresses immediately started walking around serving bloody Mary's and screwdrivers in addition to anything else you ordered. There was a 2 man crew making announcements and trivia for random t-shirts, koozies, and other small prizes. They were great and kept things fun. At halftime they served wings and hot dogs with sides of all their sauces and sides for the dogs. There was plenty of food which was nice! The "Mattio" was awesome and had plenty of TVs. Had a great time and the food was really good! Our group of 5 plus the 2 others sharing our table prebooked for the next "Experience".

Arrived around 5 on a Friday and seated right away. Place has a different look and the outside dining was upgraded. Too bad it was like 95 out today otherwise that would have been a better seat during the Friday dinner hour here. It would have been fine but me and the wife kept getting distracted by a senior 'know it all' holding court next to our table. He was very loud. Not a big deal or common but just wanted to point it out. We again ordered something different except for the baked French onion soup and jumbo shrimp app. The shrimp came with 2 less then we remember - was 8. It was good, would have been great with the missing 2. The soup was a notch below then last time, I think the crock is smaller? A little too much salt. Reuben sandwich was good but again salty. Pizza burger was also good but salty. I know this is a real popular place and they do a lot of things right and have great service. I need to stop in when its not Friday to get another view.

We had cheeseburgers and street tacos everything was amazing! Home made chips were amazing as well! We will be making a special trip back here to eat even if it is 3 hours away!!

My fiancé and I recently had our engagement party here in a beautiful tented area in the back and we could not have asked for a better experience. Everything was perfect from the location to the food (be sure to select the orange teriyaki skewers). Matty's Catering staff is top notch and an absolute pleasure to work with. They were extremely helpful in customizing the menu for the diverse tastes of our guests and even went as far as to cater to some of our avid golf fans by bringing out a 60inch TV to watch the end of the PGA tourney. Can't recommend this place enough!

Love this place! Great burgers, sliders, street tacos, & salads. Beautiful outdoor dining patio. Always seems chiily so bring your jacket...

Always a good meal @Matty's! We try to sit on the patio during summer. The wait staff is always attentive and the food is great! Excellent Bloody Mary's and sliders! Would recommend a visit!

when you drive up to the place it looks like a throwback to Roadhouse in the 80's. the back has been remodeled and it has the feel of a mediterranean villa. If really good meat and a variety of is a criteria.. good choice. If vegan gluten free free range is a criteria.. maybe look elsewhere..

My wife and I love the Sunday brunch selections and they make a good Bloody Mary. We were there on a Sunday two weeks ago and had one of the best servers I've ever seen. We were out on the patio and the server's name was Devan (sp?). She introduced herself and asked us about our 4th of July holiday. Then, she asked followup questions. She seem genuinely interested. Great personality and the service was impeccable. I really like that the staff worked as a team. Someone brought us our drinks as soon as they were ready, a different person brought us our food so that it was hot. And the manager (a tall gentleman in his 30's - I guess) was very active and visible supporting his staff. The only reason this is a 4-star instead of a 5-star is that our return trip the following week was underwhelming. We had a different server who didn't so much as introduce herself and returned to the table rarely. She also got my wife's order wrong and didn't even apologize. However, the food is always great and we will be back (likely requesting Devan specifically).

Got the Friday night fish fry & it was very meh. The 2 square pieces of fish came with a small potato pancake. For $12.99 I was not a big fan. For full disclosure I am somewhat of a fish fry snob. The other food, especially the burgers, looked way better. There's plenty of parking & awesome outdoor seating!

My fiancé wanted to go here and I was not in the mood for a burger.... I glanced at the menu and decided I would have a mini-pizza...I asked the waitress and she said it was her favorite of all time! She was not kidding this thing was so delicious I ate the entire 10 inch pizza...hey it was vegetarian no meat so a bit healthy! They also had a great summer drink menu...I can't wait to go back and try a few things My fiancé had a burger and he said it was delicious and let's just say we will be trying it again next week so I can try a burger size of my head! It's a cute little local place ...the only thing I could complain about was the temperature I was cold with three-quarter length sleeves

Favorite place to relax on the patio with a craft cocktail, or a microbrew, especially around sunset. But the food, MMmmm, the food is all so good.... love wednesday openface steak sandwich w/fried onion strings, or their grilled shrimp appetizer (big enough for a meal); this is NOT your average bar food!

My third stop for Lent 2015 Friday Fish Fry takes me to Matty's Bar & Grille. Ample Parking, full bar, hostess station, can eat in the bar area or in their back room. At the hostess station, they took our name and phone number and they use an a phone app - NoWait - and also text you when your table is ready. Being a gadget type guy, I thought that was pretty cool. As a group of 3 we were seated in about 25 to 30 minutes - arrived right around 6 pm. Although the bar area was packed with people waiting they were pretty efficient in getting people served. I only waited a few minutes for a couple of PBR tall boys. Received our text that our table was ready and we were seated in the back room area. It has 2 huge flat screens in the front of the room and 2 smaller TVs in the back. They should have made the TVs all the same size because the smaller ones were hard to see from our table. For the Fish Fry they offer: 1) Baked Cod for $13.95 - 10-12 oz of Icelandic filet lightly seasoned 2) Hand Breaded Perch - $13.95 - lightly seasoned filets dusted in Uncle Paul's secret breading recipe. 3) Battered Cod - $12.95 - Blue Moon Battered Cod. All choices served with your choice of red jacket mashed potatoes, potato pancakes, or fries, cole slaw, rye bread, tarter sauce, and a chocolate chip cookie. One member of our group order the chili and my wife and I order the clam chowder. The chili looked tasty and meaty and came with tortilla chips. The clam chowder was filled with clam and potatoes and a nice consistency in the soup. It also came with triangle pita bread cuts with parm on them. Nice surprise. We all ordered the Battered Cod. Typically $12.95 is on the high end for fish frys in Wisconsin. But it lived up to the price. 2 large pieces of cod with the perfect amount of batter that didn't overwhelm the taste of the fish and not oily at all. Decent amount of fries, cole slaw was a thumbs up - nice and creamy, the bread was fresh and pre-buttered for you. To top it off they give you a huge freshly made chocolate chip cookie. In this area I would rank it second to Clifford's but ahead of Diamond Jim's and Bosch's. Best Fish Fry so far this Lenten Season!

I've been going to Matty's for a long time, probably before the patio expansion and the subsequent outside add ons, the things Matty has been able to transition this place into is truly amazing. The food has always always been great from the pizzas, to the burgers, & the wings also. Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable about what they are serving to their patrons. As far as food, I can't comment much more because since they started the burger of the day, that's all I seem to order. Chef Bob is doing a great job!

This spot is a local, suburban bar - good for a drink if you're in the neighborhood. Their food was good, nothing special. Typical American bar food. They have a beautiful outdoor fire pit. When I went, it was the dead of winter. But, I bet it would be a nice spot come some warmer weather. Overall, this place reminds me of the bar down the street that all the neighborhood parents go to for dinner with their friends because it's close and reasonably priced. Nothing makes this place pop. Which, isn't necessarily a bad thing. Some nights you just need that kind of place.

    (3)
  • Melanie L.

They have great food but parking can be a pain when busy. I prefer to sit in the back room because it's pretty :) In summer it's fun to be outside too. You can also eat in the bar area but I'm not a fan of high stools because I have a bad back and it's just not as comfortable for me. It's one of my favorite lunch spots. You get a decent meal for the price and leave plenty full. The waitresses have always been super friendly and attentive to drink levels.

Matty's is a really fun place. The good delicious and they always have GREAT drinks. Beer flavors are plentiful with many types such as ipa's to dark stouts. In addition to fabulous beers they always have a great specialty drink. Today the amazing flavor is the "Seattle Sally" drink of the day. It has uv blue, 7up, line juice, and lemonade. Hope the packers beat the Seattle Sally's tomorrow. Go pack go!!!!!

There is a reason Matty's is ranked as best sports bar in Milwaukee for several years in a row. I no longer live in the area, but when I visit I stop by Matty's 2-3 times. The burgers are great, the wraps mind blowing, and they always have a great special or four. They are expanding their selection of craft beers on tap and have a decent selection. The waitress talked me into downloading the free app, which has a daily updated beer list on it. Also, after 10 check ins you get a free appetizer, and after 10 beers you get a free one! If you're not a Matty's regular you should be, and if you don't have the app get it......unless you dislike free food and FREE BEER!!!!

I visited Matty's recently on a Saturday night. We had the most fun! The bar had a great vibe and the staff was awesome! Our bartender, Al, made incredible mixed drinks and recommended great beer! Matty's is lucky to have such a great bartender. It's the perfect place to hang and fun! And if you like to have your bloody Mary stacked with the contents of a grown up lunchable ...then this is the place for you! But seriously... Matty's is great.

I tried the corn beef and hash with eggs and it came out looking like deli lunch meat. I tried it and it was so salty I sent it back and exchanged it for the avocado eggs Benedict. They were very kind and asked if wanted something else. The eggs beni was good and the Bloody Mary was excellent, a meal within itself. This was my first disappointment at Matty's that's why I gave it 4 stars. I've been there a couple of times and everything else was good.

This was a tough one for me, not to give five stars to. I have been a patron at Matty's since I was a young buck. Way before the addition, and before catering was big. I even remember the first MattyGras. I probably have been to at least five of them but I only remember 3. That was a party. Holy Toledo. All of my best birthdays were there. Since then we all have gotten older and more refined. Beer used to be cheap here. Now they have an excellent menu. Definitely a Grill and Bar. Outdoor ambiance is second to none in the suburbs. Service is usually pretty great. I think I am going to give it five stars. The sports memorabilia is spot on. I even bought the same picture of Paul Hornung. It is hanging in my God-son's room right now. His folks are moving soon, so I hope it makes the move. It really is a sweet picture. Reviewing Matty's now is like reviewing Jessica Simpson. I mean in 2005 there was nothing hotter. There would not be a man or woman alive that was not interested in checking out either /or. I think both have aged a little, but both are doing really well for themselves. That what it is all about I guess. I think I just taught myself a lesson writing this review.

My wife and I went to Mattys for the 1st time last Sunday for brunch, this place is awesome! Our bartenders were Kevin and Max and they made one of the best Bloody Mary's I've had and the atmosphere was friendly and inviting. My wife had the Avocado Eggs Benedict and I had a BLT. The bartender advised me to add a fried egg and it was excellent! We will definitely be back at Mattys soon! The patio looked amazing also!

Been to Matty's lots of times. The last time was for a wine tasting for a fundraiser. It was held outside under the tent. The staff was very helpful and enjoying the event too. I don't know Matty personally but he went to school with my sister in law. She says he has a big heart. It's nice to see a family owned Restrarant be successful. Keep up the great work!

Had the Wednesday night special. Tenderloin steak open faced sandwich with mushrooms, onion straws, and one side for $10.95. Just incredible. Basically a nice sized filet mignon on a toasted half roll. Cooked to perfection, tender, and delicious. And all washed down with some great craft beers on tap. Way to go Matty!

  • Joel W.

We love Matty's. The food is always excellent and the staff must take ongoing training in teamwork. Everyone works together so well. It's also nice to go to a place where they realize that the customer comes first. I'm glad we live so close. We love all the wait staff and bartenders; especially Carly, Max and Kevin. Keep up the great work guys!?

I really enjoyed this place! It is kind of tucked away on the outskirts of New Berlin so it is a bit of a hidden gem. We went there one afternoon for lunch and there were several people there but still an ample amount of seating. When you walk in there is a good size bar, towards the back there is a sun-room with plenty of seating and there is outdoor seating as well. We chose to sit at a high top table in the sun-room area. Plenty of tvs around to watch various sporting events and such. The menu was pretty straightforward. I had a chicken sandwich and my boyfriend chose to do the "build your own burger." It is worth mentioning that the service was very timely and our meals came with a few nice surprises! Apparently you get a cookie with your food? I don't recall seeing this on the menu, but it was a nice touch. Also, the sweet potato fries come with a marshmallow sauce which was something I had never heard of before. It was quite good! I would highly recommend trying it :) Overall a very good experience and we plan on going back. Hoping to try breakfast here sometime!

Zombie Dust is what brought us to Mattys last night. Our server, Paula approached our table with a smile asking what brought us to Mattys. We told her it was the Zombie Dust. We are somewhat of beer snobs. This is the place to be. Paula told us about the app and beer menus so we can stay updated on what craft beers are on tap. We filled out birthday club slips. I was joking with the server saying that I hoped I wasnt discriminated against because I was a Chicago Bear fan. She in turn told us about the packer party on September 13 when they play the bears. We will definitely be there. Its well worth the 45 minute drive. Mattys definitely has a new regular customer, this can be dangereous for us. Thank you for the awesome service.

Bloody & Brunch were great. Waitress was super. Placed a special order and she didn't hesitate. Lots of times servers are not willing to bend or they say they don't have a "button" for that. I will be back.

The only good thing about this bar (for a lack of a better name ) is the beer Food sucks !!!

Interesting menu. Must try something of everything. Get ready for a long wait on Fridays (or get there early).

Good food and service the couple times we've been there. Had to wait a crazy long time on Father's Day last year. Even the waitress said they never expected so many people and were under staffed. Said something about the wait on their Facebook page and was blocked from posting now. Even though they say that didn't.

Somedays I go to Matty's and I'm in love. And somedays I go to Matty's and I'm like "meh". First of all, their outdoor space is the bomb diggity. It's got TVs for Packer viewing. It has a fire pit. It has shady beautiful trees. It has lots of seating. Best patio ever? The food is generally very good. This isn't your typical bar fare, and we are usually really happy with our meals. However, I have been here twice now for brunch and the food just really wasn't up to par with what they normally offer. The last time I went, I had an Avocado Eggs Benedict and the Canadian bacon on my benny was so tough I could barely cut through it. That makes me really sad because I love eggs benny. The bloodys are good though! And they make pretty great brandy old fashioned too. Nom! The wait staff really seems to be hit or miss too. Sometimes I get the nicest people and then sometimes I feel like they are trying to get me out of there as soon as possible. It's a pretty popular place, so I get that they have lots of people to attend to and want to turn tables around quickly, but jeesh. Let me eat my food and have enjoy my adult beverage. In general, I really like this place. I wish it wasn't so busy all the time for my own sanity, but good for them for creating an awesome place that people like to hang out at!

  • Andre M.

Took the family here about two weeks ago. They were packed, but it didn't feel like there were too many people here. Our table was nice and quite, wait staff was friendly and I never had to track them down. When it came time to order I had a burger, my wife had gyro wrap, my kids had pizza and we all licked our plates clean. Great fries, which is important when your talking about burgers. We were all surprised to see that each meal came with a cookie, and not some tiny oreo, these were nice sized cookies. I have no complaints and I will be frequenting this place! Loved it.

    (5)
  • Steve R.

I too love Mattys. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. They have breakfast on the weekends and burger specials most of the time. Good comes Out quick and most dishes included a cookie for dessert as a bonus. I'm especially a fan of their sliders. It seems like they don't have many drink specials however.

    (5)
  • Lisa J.

I love Matty's! You walk into what seems like a dark dive bar but they have a beautiful addition in the back and nice patio seating as well. Their burgers are LEGIT! You can taste the quality of the meat, they have local cheeses to choose from and quite a bit of different toppings. Delicious food, great prices, and friendly staff. Worth the drive to New Berlin.

Really good food. Ok service. Ordered nachos as an appetizer and they took about 15 min to come out (no meat on them so not sure why it took so long ). Then ordered the special , an open face steak sandwich , med rare. Was cooked nicely and very tasty. My bf got the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and he wasn't that impressed Drinks were good and strong (pineapple and Vodka ). I will be back

Love the food and atmosphere! We just got take out last night and the chicken quesadilla was AMAZING!

    (5)
  • Jeffrey S.

ok....It's a nice place, inside and out, so we keep coming back......but the food NEVER gets better. The chicken wraps and nachos are the ONLY items that have a really good flavor. Beef brisket WAY TOO SMOKEY -3 bites and your done , Mom's meatloaf - BURNT , but i like burnt, so I kept it. BUT the meat? and special sauce - TERRIBLE - my dog was ok with it. Fish Fry - NO flavor , cheese burger ..same, Breakfast - ok, Sub ? - BAD, Coke , Flat...they replaced it 4 times ( 2 visits ) always flat. So I tried enough different food .... we will be back for Wraps n Nachos only and of course - beer .

  • Mike K.

this place is so Wisconsin it pass as the state capital building. cheese and nascar and packer everywhere. like most truly Wisconsin establishments, it feels like some dude's living room, marked out in packer stuff. it has that perfect lets sit around eat and drink casually while watching any of Wisconsin's awful sports....albeit with cheese. there's nothing truly stand-outish about this place, unless you love Wisconsin and then you'll love it, but the waitress we had was awesome. so that in itself gives this place another star. good spot, casual, nothing fancy...great way to start your day or afternoon.

    (3)
  • Kelsie D.

If I could give more stars I would. Their traditional wings are amazing. Their rueben A+. My friends both had the "Mr. Cool" smokehouse burger. They could not get enough of it! Not to mention the cookie that comes with your meal. Yum!! Would definitely come here again if I was in the area!!

After a long stressful month, we needed a long ride so we enjoyed an autumn Sunday drive into Packer Territory (we are Bears fans ). We set out for this place on the burger reputation, it was an enjoyable experience, the bartenders were so friendly and fun to talk to-not to mention the killer bloody marys, yum!!! The burgers were good, I would have liked to see the meat a little more tender but the tastes blended well together and it was cooked to perfection. There is a very nice back patio area where you can enjoy the packers and quietly check the Bears score on your phone... Not around the corner for us but worth the autumn drive.

Great local bar. We have never had a bad experience and all of the food is great. I personally think their breakfast is the best, but their food is always fresh and home made tasting. They get a 5 because you can't go wrong here.

  • Michelle A.

We love Mattie's ! The burgers are the best in town in my opinion and their drink menu changes seasonally and always has great drinks on it. Their patio rocks in the summer time, great place to sit and enjoy a few beverages. The staff is great and it's just a chill laid back place to go and enjoy yourself!

  • Todd W.

My meal was served cold which is odd because it came in a timely manner. The waitress said they would make me another and I could take the cold one home. My new meal was half size. When the check came my cold meal was already in the dumpster. The deserts were very small. I thought the Key Lime Pie would be a slice of pie. It was the size of a cookie. The staff was nice. The Bloody Marys were good but still I have no reason to go back.

    (2)
  • Nicole A.

The staff is still so friendly, helpful, and great at Matty's. I just fell in love with their bloody mary...bbq seasoning on rim, sausage with cheese in the middle, a string cheese, and various other condiments, and it's gigantic. The drink tastes like it's made from scratch as well, or just a terrific blend.

Matty's is a non sports bar-y sports bar. Though I have never actually had food here, they seem to have an extensive menu, so one time I'll have to indulge. The atmosphere at Matty's has something for everyone- There is a narrow, darker interior area that is reminiscent of a traditional bar, but there is also a very bright sunroom area that is spacious and more conducive to larger groups. Finally, they recently remodeled the outdoor patio space, which is modern and even has an oudoor big screen TV (I didn't know they could even do that...) The drink menu is extensive, with an entire page of beers and wines that are offered, as well as a variety of mixed drinks. Normally, I stick with beer, but when I was there last Friday, I tried a chocolate martini. It was as delicious as it sounded! Prices at Matty's are pretty on par with similar places- Its not a dive bar, so you're going to pay a little more for Muskego. Beers on tap are about $5 for a pint, and my delicious martini set me back about $8. If you're in the area, check it out!

First time for breakfast but not the last. We've probably been here five times for dinner and drinks and always have great food & service! Great breakfast!

  • Jenni P.

Went back to Matty's on a Friday night - the parking lot was incredibly crowded so we got pretty nervous that we might end up waiting for an hour for a table, but we were pleasantly surprised that it wasn't as crowded inside as we thought it would be, and we only ended up waiting about 20 minutes for a table; not too shabby! My husband ordered a burger, with a fried egg and cheddar cheese, and he swears it's one of the best burgers he's ever had. Thumbs up! I ordered an Italian Chicken Sandwich - breaded chicken breast, marinara sauce & mozzarella cheese! Yummmmmmmy! Thumbs up again! My only complaints would be that there could have been a little more sauce on my sammy, and one of our concerns from last time about our table was addressed by the manager when I was contacted, and they said they were only going to seat parties of 2 at that table from now on, and sure enough, there were 4 people at that table! It's just a little upsetting to have them say they're going to fix something and then they don't; BUT ... overall, Matty's redeemed itself from our previous (bad) experience from a few weeks back!

I first came to Mattys because I had received gift certificates for it and I am really glad I did. The food is really good quality and the wait staff is very nice. I love the back room and patio, very relaxing atmosphere back there. I think the menu has a nice selection from salads, burgers, pizza to specialties. I am definitely a fan and will continue to go now. Prices are reasonable and we have always been greeted by who I perceive to be the owner. I like that, seems very sincere.

  • Kymberly J.

Matty's seems to be a hot spot for the locals. They have a huge inside bar area with a casual relaxed feel and a small party room. On the day I was there the party room was being used for some kids athletic awards ceremony. My friend and I sat outside getting the last of the warm fall weather. We both got build your own burgers. It was served on chibatta - a new twist but the amount of bread was almost equal to the amount of beef. I personally like more beef than bread. It was still tasty! The side options that come with the burger are pretty good and include homemade chips. Not salty at all (good thing) and thick. The surprise ending was the cookie that came atop the burger. Nice touch Matty's.

  • Aaron F.

Matty's is a sports bar for everyone. I've been here several times now and have never been disappointed by the food. The burgers are really good and they have a lot of different toppings and options for customizing your own including some higher-end cheeses to slap on. They also have the unique smokey flavor you don't find in many burgers. My dining comrades also agree that the food is above average if not better for a bar. Fish fries seem to be a big hit here too. In addition to the great food they also have lots of TVs for watching games, a pool table, and dart board. The dining room in back is nice but can get loud at times. They seem to be renovating or getting the patio in back ready for summer and I can see that being a great place to hang out and have drinks. Matty's definitely fills a void in an area that seems to lack bars with good food and restaurants in general.

It's a really nice place in a somewhat remote location for you city dwellers. Worth the drive out there. Food is great. Service is great. They have a bar area but a separate dining room. Lots of TV's for the sports fan in your life. Maybe my favorite place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Don't get me wrong I LOVE this city of Milwaukee. But a change can be nice.

Matty's is a "hidden treasure" in New Berlin. It's hard to find, tucked BEHIND a strip mall, and located between two random farms in the area. I was first here for a bridal shower. Past the bar is a nice room that has huge windows - a lot of natural light, and a cute outdoor area right out the door. I went back again to eat from their actual menu as opposed to the catered food. The burger was excellent. I was able to get it on a pretzel roll. It gave it a nice, semi-salty flavor. The burger was made with juicy angus meat and very cheesy. I don't usually eat potato chips - they are too greasy for my taste. However, I enjoyed Matty's homemade chips. They probably aren't healthier than usual chips, but they at least taste and feel like it (I didn't have grease all over my fingers after eating them). The meal also comes with a cookie - it was hard and probably just from a box. I'm guessing they aren't made there. But at least it's a nice addition for someone looking for a little dessert after the burger. The mozzarella logs are out of this world. Huge, cheesy, and not dripping in grease like usual mozzarella sticks. You can tell they are hand made right there instead of frozen. I've heard nothing but positive reviews about their pizzas. I'll have to try that next time I'm there. The parking lot is small. It is packed on weekend nights but you can always just park on the street. There isn't much else around here.

The battered cod was wonderful but the red jacket mashed potatoes were succulent. Joyce had the blue gills and she fond them out of this world. We all believed (4 on the group) that this was one of the best fish frys in WI. Oops, forgot the "yummy" potato pancake. Enjoy.

I've been in Matty's several times and have always had a fairly decent time. The food is pretty much typical bar fare and the burgers have held their own against any other pub in that area. Food was hot, beer was chilled and the servers were polite and friendly. Got a little bit of an attitude from the barkeep but it was rather busy on this Friday night. I'll give 'em a pass. Matty's reeks of sports bar and the back sun room is a tad chilly, but overall you'll get a good sandwich and cold beer.

Waitress was very friendly. Another waitress kept coming over and entertaining my friends kids. The Mozzarella logs are more like tree trunks, they are huge. I thought my burger was little dry, but it was still good.

There is a reason that Matty's Bar and Grill is voted the number 1 Sports Bar ...whether you go there for the "sport" of it with TV's everywhere...indoors AND out...enjoy a smokehouse burger, a pizza, or just sipping a cool something on the ever expanding patio now complete with Firepit...you won't be able to count all the reasons you came...food, fun, atmosphere...great service ! Food was just ok. Had the filet sandwich which was tough. The real issue though is the service. Sat at the bar and waited at least 10 minutes before being able to grab someone's attention for a menu. Then had no follow up service. Couldn't get a refill at the bar and left thirsty. People in the dining room had to come out to the bar area to get someone to service them.

I had always been hesitant about checking this place out, I guess because I had it pegged as a typical New Berlin/Muskego sports bar and that's not really my style. Well, that's exactly what it is. However, there are a few pretty impressive aspects to Matty's that in my mind set it apart. I ordered the Lumberjack, which was the burger of the day. Apparently they have a different burger for each day of the month, which is pretty awesome. I thought it was pretty tasty, and according to our waitress the beef blend contains some of their in house smoked brisket, which is also cool. The service was so-so: to be fair it was busy but we sat at our table for about 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence and it took our food quite a while to arrive at the table. Hopefully when I return, the service will be more in line with the other reviews here and I can knock my score up to 4 stars.

We wanted to order out last night and thought we would give Matty's a try. I do not recommend ordering the stuffed sole!! The fish was like jerky and it was not stuffed with crab and scallops... it was more of a pasty floury mush with no crab or scallops to be found. So disappointed. The rice and steamed veggies were really good though and my husband enjoyed the Parmesan Encrusted Tilapia.

I have to give them the "pickle in the middle" review. In other words, Matty's excels in certain areas and falls short in others. Before I delve into this review, I must first thank Travis for being so accommodating and obliging my request for a 14-person table on a busy Friday Fish Fry night. The poor weather conditions did contribute to a "slower"--although, still hopping--night, but the service was undeniably impeccable. We were serviced by two waitresses and were overseen by one of the shift managers. They were on it! No glasses empty. No dirty dishes left. They made sure our beverage glasses were full and our dinner plates were cleared in a timely fashion. The staff timed their presence perfectly. They let us dine without interruption or making us feel rushed. It was comfortable dining with friends. However, there was much mumbling among my fellow diners that was disappointing to hear, given the high marks for service. The food fell very short, and was not comparable to the exemplary performance from the waitstaff. It is too bad, because I really wanted to give them more stars. The fish fry, specifically, the baked cod, was "extremely dry," "tasteless." There were more adjectives, and not just for the baked cod, that were not in the realm of flattery. The other dishes were dubbed "just okay." I think I was the one diner that felt their dish was great. I ordered a roasted chicken salad. The greens of romaine and spinach were very fresh and crisp. The raspberry vinagrette--even if not homemade--was so delicious! I thought it complemented the salad ingredients. I did cut out the walnuts and blue cheese, but I think that kept the salad on the healthy side. That is what I wanted, and yet the salad was still very tasty. The one negative here was the breadstick. This was extremely dry, like it was sitting overnight and got somewhat stale. I would go for a slightly crunchy exterior with a soft inside. Also, the bread should be, at the very least, warm. That goes for the entrees that should be warm. The general consensus among the diners was that everything was luke warm, like they had been sitting under a heat lamp. Also, there was a perception of frozen ingredients, with very few fresh ones. The big perk though, at the end of the day, was the chocolate chip cookie. It was a fun treat, and reminded me of what it used to be like on a Midwest Express flight. Unfortunately, these cookies did not taste like they were freshly baked or warm. A warm cookie would have been even better. Just a suggestion. Really, the overall suggestion is to keep the integrity of the food in mind. Try to use fresh ingredients as much as possible; always serve food as it comes out of the oven, off the stove, etc.; do not overcook fish, because it will taste dried out. Side note: those diners that had the beer-battered fish said it was good, and they liked the cole slaw. I will give Matty's another try, but I hope that the few tweaks mentioned here will be applied before then.

Matty's is a fun atmosphere with fresh homemade style food and a great place to have a few drinks and watch a ball game. Tonight for diner, we started out with 3 appetizers. All 3 were made from scratch and excellent. The mozzarella sticks were huge and filled with cheese goodness. They might have been the cheesiest mozzy sticks I have ever had. We also had quesadilla's and spinach dip, both were also excellent. By the time we ordered the main course, we were almost full, but of course we ordered anyway. I had a Bourbon chicken wrap with a delicious jambalaya soup. Both were excellent. I was surprised with the portion size, I could not finish my meal, which is a shocker for anyone that knows how I eat. I was however able to finish my Fat Tire while watching a little baseball with my wife and friends. Overall, the prices were good, the food and drinks were good and Matty's is a place I will visit again.
